PopURLs Is Fichey's Competition
Play this post |
Popurls does exactly what Fichey does, but in a simplified manner. The most popular links from Digg, Delicious, Fark and a host of other popular sites (like BoingBoing, Reddit, Flickr, StumbleUpon, etc) are listed by popularity.
You can even customize your page to a level that Popurls looks more like your feed reader (don't you have one already?). In this one aspect, maybe Popurls goes a step further than Fichey by giving users the option to customize their feed pages. Also, there's a bigger range of feeds to choose from.
Currently, for some reason, the website is extremely slow. Perhaps Popurls would switch to faster servers soon. Overall, the content in the site is impressive (one, long page) and it's nice to have another service that helps solve the bookmarking overload. If a person can find all the best stories on the internet at one place, there's little incentive to visit multiple sites to get the same information. Way to go Popurls!
